Live events FAQ

Live event questions, answered.

What AV do we need for a live event?

A screen the whole room can see, audio that reaches the back row, and light on the stage. Venue size, headcount, and the run-of-show decide how much of each. Send us those and we spec the package.

What do we need for a general session?

A stage wall sized to the room, IMAG if the back rows sit far from the stage, a PA sized to the headcount, wireless mics for Q&A, and the switching to move between slides, playback, and live video. Light on the speaker finishes it.

What do we need for a panel discussion?

A lavalier or headset mic on each panelist, a mixer to balance the levels, and speakers sized to the room. If the session is recorded or streamed, we add the recorder and the encoder to the same package.

What audio works in a large venue?

Line-array speakers with subwoofers, sized to the room so coverage is even from the front row to the back wall. A mixing console holds the levels and wireless mics let presenters move.

How do we pick the screen size and pitch?

The farthest seat sets the wall size. The closest viewer, or a camera, sets the pitch: fine when people or lenses are close, standard when the room watches from a distance, about 10 feet per millimeter of pitch. Tell us the room depth and whether the stage is on camera and we size it.

Is stage lighting worth adding?

Yes. A lit presenter reads on camera and from the back of the room, and spots and moving heads pull focus to the speaker, the product, or the reveal. We program the looks to your run-of-show and run them live or to cue.

Can the look match our brand?

Yes. Uplight and wash in your brand color, a gobo (a stencil that projects your logo in light) on the stage or a wall, and your content on the LED wall and every display. Send the brand colors and the logo with the run-of-show.

How do we make a session more interactive?

A touchscreen that drives the LED wall live, so a presenter or a guest controls what the room sees. On the floor, touchscreens and kiosks for demos and sign-ins, or a selfie wall for the photo people share. We build it, test it on the rig, and crew it with the rest of the show.

Do you send a crew?

Yes. Our engineers and technical operators load in, run the wall, audio, and lights to the cue sheet, and strike. If your own crew will run it, the gear ships with setup documentation and the content pre-tested.
